Devlog 5 : Spring Break!


Howdy !!

As the title suggests, we have gone into spring break! Finally, after weeks of hard work, our team can get a rest, but don't let this get your mood down as we are planning big things! Before we continue, we have an update from Alina! She is working hard to recover in physical therapy and will hopefully be able to join us fully in 2 weeks when our team has its next meeting.

Roadmap

As we don't have much visual things to show and are working hard on getting the game to be something playable again, we would like to take this week to talk about what is coming next. The coming 2 weeks are our final weeks before our first production sprint ends. That means that in 2 weeks, we will have an official Alpha release!!

So what have we been doing?

As of now, we have primarily been working on making the game playable again. That means making the gameplay loop all over again, making code that won't contain any bugs and is optimized. We are also looking into a completely new part of the game that was previously lacking, that being ragdolls. This is a whole new challenge for us to take on, which completely changes how we had previously made certain mechanics. On the art side of things, we are working hard on finalizing the map, making it balanced and fun. Besides the map, we have also created our first iterations of the player character, which we have shown you in the previous devlog.

Basically, we have been busy with getting the project onto its feet so we can have a strong Alpha which will blow you all away!!

But what are we doing?

So what are we doing? What are our plans with this project ?? WHATS NEXT ????

Well its hard to already say, but we have some ideas that we are working with and are looking to see if they are possible within our game. We don't think its the right time to reveal this just yet, as our primary goal so far is to get a fun, playable version of our prototype with every mechanic fully fleshed out and working! However, as development goes on and we have a more solid base, we will start sharing our ideas with you and who knows, maybe if you guys suggest some ideas, it will be implemented in the game ?
