Devlog 10: Dinner is served!


Heya! Grab your forks and get ready to dig in because production is officially finished!! As of NOW we aren't allowed to add any more freatures, It's just polishing what we already have. And boy oh boy are we gonna be polishing it!

Here's a quick update of our scene:

We added lots of collision for smooth walking around as well as add some props to hide our shame (aka the invisible walls).

LOTS OF FUN UI STUFF HAPPENING!!

Alina has been making us some sick buttons so now the game doesn't just start! 

We now have some extra particles so there's more visual feedback as to what is happening. Here's our brand new and shiny "stunned" one:



We've also added our press to join menu and you can select colors for your carrot! The council shall decide your fate:

Last feature to implement!!

We had one more feature we really wanted to get in there, we hinted at it last week too! It did make it in, from now on you can throw eggs and pasta at your most favourite  carrot. This was not super hard to implement as it is basically  a more simplistic version of our code to pick up and throw other players.

We will have to go over this new feature in polish as currently it can be a bit hard to aim, but the feature is in and adds a layer of gameplay that was missing before.

Menu's sounds and more !!

It's been a busy week we had three main jobs this week; Get our last gameplay mechanic working, set up all the UI, and hook up all the sounds.

Keep in mind that some of the text is still placeholder fonts as well as colors. that being said here is some UI to rest your eyes upon. All the pretty UI features the artists so lovingly made for you are now working! Here is the main menu:


In the new and improved press to join screen you can now pick your favorite council member!


There is some more UI for you to check out but you'll have to meet your friends in the game to see it in action! ;)

After that we implemented all the sounds that we had scrambled together which went by rather fast it just needed to be hooked up to the game, not much code was involved in fact. But that's a bit hard to explain on paper, yet another reason to go check out the game! ;)

Let's make it shine!!

With all these new additions to our game we come to the end of our final production week. Which makes this game complete! All that is left is now polish, we will be going over our code and art and making sure everything is the quality it should be. We officially have a beta for you to play linked in this post down below. hope you enjoy!
